These ba­bies mean busi­ness!

THE Sun­day Mail Jet Baby Com­pe­ti­tion is head­ing to­wards its cli­max — 120 beau­ti­ful tots have made it to the fi­nal stage. Else­where in this pa­per we pub­lish all the fi­nal­ists in prepa­ra­tion for vot­ing, which be­gins next week.

The clos­ing date for vote sub­mis­sions is Novem­ber 6, with the win­ning ba­bies set to be an­nounced on Novem­ber 26. The prize-giv­ing cer­e­mony, where over US$12 000 worth of cash prizes and cloth­ing vouch­ers are up for grabs, will be held on De­cem­ber 2 in the cap­i­tal.

The part­ner­ship be­tween Zim­pa­pers and Jet Stores has seen the com­pe­ti­tion grow and the num­ber of en­tries in­creas­ing each year.

Edgars Group mar­ket­ing ex­ec­u­tive Rumbidzai Dz­imba said the syn­ergy with Zim­pa­pers was pay­ing div­i­dends.

“Part­ner­ing Zim­pa­pers in run­ning the Baby of the Year com­pe­ti­tion has brought im­mense pub­lic­ity and aware­ness to the Jet brand in Zim­babwe,” said Dz­imba. “Our cus­tomers are in turn bet­ter ed­u­cated about the com­pe­ti­tion and they are very ex­cited about the wider va­ri­ety of prizes on of­fer. It also strength­ens Jet brand’s po­si­tion­ing as a fam­ily ori­ented cloth­ing re­tailer.”

She said that the com­pe­ti­tion was play­ing a big role in pro­mot­ing the wel­fare of ba­bies.

“The main ob­jec­tive of run­ning this com­pe­ti­tion, how­ever, is to pro­mote healthy ba­bies, which is achieved by the var­i­ous in­ter­ac­tions held with com­pe­ti­tion en­trants in Jet stores, via so­cial me­dia and other plat­forms.

“Par­ents also have an op­por­tu­nity to show­case the new ad­di­tions in their fam­i­lies, an ac­tiv­ity that al­ways car­ries with it a whole lot of ex­cite­ment and an­tic­i­pa­tion.”

Dz­imba shed more light on the Jet Baby brand and what they have to of­fer on the cloth­ing mar­ket.

“Jet Baby is a brand that launched in the Zim­bab­wean mar­ket in 2011 when the Jet re­tail chain opened here. It is an in­ter­nal cloth­ing brand, sold ex­clu­sively in Jet stores in Africa. The brand of­fers a wide va­ri­ety of sea­son rel­e­vant, good qual­ity prod­uct from cloth­ing ap­parel, shoes, baby care and toys at af­ford­able prices.”
