Time for practical and sustainable development

-

EDITOR — Development politics will move our nation forward. This is the time every patriotic Zimbabwean has been waiting for; when Government provides an enabling environment by getting rid of every stumbling block for national development.

Partisan and divisive politics should never meddle in this new dawn in a new Zimbabwe.

It is not about personalities, but the ability of turning around the fortunes of Zimbabwe for her people’s well being and economic recovery.

Civic politics should also be put under the spotlight for there are some organisations which thrive on national chaos and crises. Where the environment is changing for the better, the same organisations try to fan crisis.

Entrepreneurs such as vendors should be wary of people who masquerade as vendors, but cause disorder.

It should be the responsibility of every citizen to uphold the rule of law. Vendors should not be used as decoys by people who are never advancing their wellbeing, but, rather, pushing their personal political agenda of greed and looting public wealth.

Days of rank, street and land barons have since gone.

This is time for practical and sustainable development. Hats off to all those who are engineers of the New Era. Israel T. Mabhoo via email
