THE naughty professor was at it again this past week. That’s so like him, so predictable.

That rant on BBC’s HardTalk was very much expected. If anything, it actually took long in coming.

When things do not go your way, it is very natural to get bitter; especially when you suddenly find yourself jobless and irrelevant at a time when you thought the odds where in your favour.

It must be very cold outside ZANU-PF, judging from Jonathan Moyo’s deportment on that international platform.

Imagine singing a lone hymn of unconstitutionalism when the whole world, including your former pay masters, is fully behind your nemesis; very frustrating indeed.

But the silence on Prof Moyo’s Twitter handle following that interview is telling; he seems to be slowly realising that he is waging a lost battle.

Anyway, time is the best healer; we can only hope it will work its magic on the troubled G40 cabal members. The sooner they realize that they tide has changed for good, the better for them.

But what is this hullabaloo we hear coming from the opposition camp? While others are eager to get the succession discourse to prevail, the ‘black market section’ led by party spokesperson Obert Gutu, is not so keen on change.

Blue-eyed boy Nelson Chamisa seems to be leading the race to succeed Morgan Tsvangirai but Elias Mudzuri is not very impressed, he wants in as well. And Madame Thokozane Khupe is watching from the peripheries, hoping to play the gender card right. But it seems very few people in the opposition are looking her way.

It’s a big shame, because whoever acquires the dishonourable position will ultimately be the big loser at the polls in the next few months.
