MDC-T’S Nelson Chamisa is proving to be very reckless with words. He says whatever comes to his mind without giving much thought to the implications.

While he enjoys goodwill among the youthful opposition hooligans, he has been building too many castles in the air for them and he risks getting their stick very soon.

His electoral campaign has been very clumsy.

It is obvious that he thinks the Zimbabwean electorate is extremely gullible and should accept his pronouncements without asking any questions.

But that is not how Zimbabweans have been socialised. We are an educated nation and cannot be fooled by his hyperbole.

Last week in Chinhoyi, the contested MDC-T leader promised the few MDC-T supporters who had sacrificed their afternoon to hear him speak that should he win the elctions, he would build a new rail system with bullet trains between Harare and Bulawayo.

He left them hanging of course, free to speculate how on earth such an ambitious project could be funded at this particular time.

Chamisa also promised during the same week that in the unlikely event that he won the elections, he will wave his magic wand and solve the acute cash crunch within two weeks.

Maybe he should just do it now considering that it is his part of his job anyway as a serving Member of Parliament.

This is the same person who not so long ago was left with egg on his face after the United States dismissed his claims that US President Donald Trump had promised his party US$15 billion if they win the elections.

Despite Chamisa’s imagined charisma, he has proved to be a daft orator, one who does not understand his audience at all.
