DeMbare may regret Mukamba deal

- Sir 18area.coms

However, the conditions at Makepekepe are kindergarten stuff when compared to those at Black Rhinos or Chapungu.

DYNAMOS might have made a fatal mistake in loaning out Denver Mukamba to their city rivals. Reports have suggested that DeMbare have inserted a clause which bars Mukamba from playing against them but Caps United will not be mourning about that one.

Beating Dynamos only, which they are capable of doing anyway without Mukamba, will not deliver the title to Makepekepe.

However, doing better than the other 17 teams in the league will deliver the gong and with Mukamba in their locker room, Caps United are a much better side.

On the flip side, Dynamos without Mukamba are a much poorer side and something tells me they will regret loaning him out to Makepekepe.

Maybe DeMbare were too desperate to see the back of Mukamba that they did not think through this one properly.

Not that they have a proud record of being masterminds but surely you cannot hand over such a dangerous weapon to your cross town rivals.

Admittedly, Mukamba has his baggage but even the devil cannot deny the fact that the midfielder can play ball.

Last season, an undisciplined and unfit Denver, who often came to training “stuck” on a concoction of cough mixtures, carried Dynamos to some crucial points.

The DeMbare coaches knew pretty well that the midfielder would not give them 90 minutes but they still fielded him as they appreciated that he only needs a second – not 90 minutes – to make a difference.

Now this is the same boy they have loaned to a Makepekepe side they will most likely be tussling with for the league title this coming season.

Dear Kenias Mubaiwa, may you quickly bring Yours Truly up to speed on this one?

One might argue that at Caps United, Denver will be rehabilitated because Chitembwe is as strict as coaches will ever come.

The defence forces sides have their own way of making players behave Sydney Linyama now looks like a pastor at Rhinos while Tineyi Chitora is revived at Chapungu and is a recently attested member of the Air Force of Zimbabwe.

Mukamba could have been loaned out to any of the defence forces teams or Walter Magaya’s outfit where he would also get some much needed anointing oil.

But no, Dynamos being Dynamos have a way of making ludicrous decisions.

The stone that they just threw away has a chance to shine at their bitter rivals.

And every good game Mukamba will have in green is bound to see some Chazunguza supporters questioning the wisdom of loaning him out to Caps United of all teams.

A question that can be asked now before Denver kicks a ball at his new club is one pertaining to Lloyd Mutasa’s man management skills.

It appears as if the Dynamos coach is mastering the habit of sending troublesome players packing without exploring ways to whip them into line.

Mutasa gives up on good players easily, his son Wisdom included.

Linyama, Mukamba and Lincoln Zvasiya are some players who were jettisoned from DeMbare amid concerns that not much was done to instill discipline in them.

During his playing days, Mutasa was nicknamed Samaita but these days they call him father because he shows so much love to his players, too much love
