FOLLOWING the unveiling of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s dream team last week, Zimbabweans from across the political divide, for the first time in many years, are in agreement that we have a Cabinet that is primed to deliver.

Only opposition leader Nelson Chamisa and a few of his hangers-on disagree for the sake of disagreeing.

Following Nelson’s electoral humiliation, the young man is still a long way from recovery. Every word he utters stinks of bitterness.

The recently appointed Minister of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation, Kirsty Coventry, was his latest victim.

Instead of seeing Minister Coventry’s knowledge and experience considering her achievements to date in and outside the swimming pool, he decided to belittle her. Using derogatory remarks, Nelson described her as a toddler who had been dragged into Cabinet.

To put things into perspective, Nelson recently turned 40 while Minister Coventry is only five years younger than him. Nelson wanted to be the President of this country at 40.

So what’s wrong with a 35-year-old minister?

And Nelson is the one who was carping and harping on about a generational consensus! What a laugh.

His double standards and misogynistic views continue to astound. Just recently he went public with his horribly chauvinistic views about his own sister, and he has stood back while his thugs have used all manner of slurs against women.

The bitterness is not with Nelson alone. One Jonathan Moyo is also consumed by it. The way he reacted to Grace Mugabe’s call for forgiveness and unity last week says it all.

“Mrs Mugabe can move on with Mnangagwa. But the people are not going to be part of that movement. The people are moving in a different direction . . . ”

Jonathan is now “the people”! Hahahahahahaha.

The majority of the people voted for President Mnangagwa. That is the reality that Nelson and Jonathan find so difficult to swallow. Well, the people have moved on and will leave these two to wallow in their bitterness.
