THE COMING OF JESUS

(Peace be upon him)

-

“….in fact He (The Almighty) raised him (Jesus) up to Him (in the Heavens).” (Chapter 4 : v 158)

Muslims firmly believe that Jesus (peace be upon him) is alive in The Heavens, having been miraculously raised up by Allah Almighty, and will return to earth near the end of time.

His mother Mary (peace be upon her), being from a very noble family and chaste in character, was chosen by God Almighty (The Creator of all), to give birth to him (Jesus). A group of people levelled false accusations of immorality, etc. against her, but the Holy Qur’aan categorically and repeatedly confirms her purity and chastity.

In fact, it is in her honour that Allah Almighty had revealed an entire chapter of the Holy Qur’aan which is specifically named after her (Maryem – peace be upon her), viz. Chapter 19. The circumstances surrounding the miraculous birth of Jesus (peace be upon him) are detailed in this chapter, whilst some mention is also made in several other chapters

Throughout his mission many people had tried to harm him, in different ways. However, despite their ill treatment of him, Jesus (peace be upon him) forgave them all and continued to be good and kind to them. He constantly taught people to be good to one another; be forgiving towards others and pray for their guidance; stay away from evil and immorality; be honest in all matters and dealings; maintain good ties with all –especially family members; be kind to one’s parents and in fact to all creatures of The Almighty.

He was very humble by nature and always kept far from arrogance and hatred. Just like every other Messenger of Allah Almighty, he was full of all the qualities of excellence and always held a genuine feeling and concern for the well-being of others.
