@BlessingLorrain on “Inside Hara
re’s ghastly abortion ‘clinics’” This is so tragic. Abortions should be made legal. It’s sexual reproductive health.
*** @pepper_bu on “Inside Harare’s ghastly abortion ‘clinics’” It won’t end. The clinics should be legal.

Masaisai on “Artisanal miners: Separating fact from fiction” When crimes are committed and people die, the State should do whatever it takes to control the situation. It has the responsibility to stamp out criminality in the society. Unfortunately, no operation is perfect. A few could erroneously become innocent victims. But the bottom line is that something must be done. And this is exactly what the security agencies are doing. They have to weed out the culprits. So far, the majority of them have been linked to crime and the justice system makes sure that those found not guilty are released and allowed to continue with their lives. It is, therefore, naive for the writer to try and paint a picture of arbitrary victimisation of small-scale miners by the police. The gangs are real and must be hit hard. Disorder in artisanal mining reigns supreme and soon we will realise that the degradation of our land far outweighs the benefits we are getting from these mining activities. If we keep chasing gold, we will end up with nothing called Zimbabwe.
