NOW that there is going to be a review of the sanctions on Zimbabwe, it is my plea to those behind the final say to consider that the Second Republic has done its part. They should consider the struggles the poor millions are going through. It is high time it dawns on those pulling the sanctions strings to realise that whoever they say they are targeting, is not being affected. — No to Sanctions. ***

The water crisis in Harare seems to be getting worse rather than improving. Harare City Council has completely failed in this regard and there might actually be a need for an interventi­on, from Government, of some sort. A bit of a shake-up or reshuffle might just do the trick because the City Fathers are failing to fulfil their mandate. — Citizen. ***

We have been waiting for a national soccer team coach and now that he has been unveiled, I am disappoint­ed. I wonder where they even plucked this guy from. If they wanted a European coach, they would have gone with the Hendrik Pieter de Jongh fellow who proved himself last season at Highlander­s. Zifa will never cease to amaze. — Soccer Fan. ***

The news that civil servants’ salaries have been increased is music to the ear.

Hopefully, we will not see retailers hiking prices of goods and services. If prices are to remain stable, I am sure life will be a somewhat better for the ordinary citizen. — Faith Nyota, Harare.
