THERE are a lot of kombis with no number plates that ply Epworth-Mbare through George Road and Cripps where there are no police road blocks. The police need to man these roads if they want to do away with these pirate kombis. ZUPCO also needs to increase its franchise fleet so that people do not spend hours in queues. —

Since the arrest of Hopewell Chin’ono and Jacob Ngarivhume, the “31 July march” noise seems to have subsided. The police might be onto something here and now I see the reason why they had to arrest these two guys.

Having been following their utterances on social media spaces, it was clear that these guys wanted to stir up trouble, they were inciting the public to go on the streets and attempt to overthrow a democratically elected Government.

Instead of criticising Government for these arrests, we should actually applaud them for a job well done in keeping the peace. —

The fight against Covid-19 can only be won if citizens are willing to work with the Government.

There is a worrisome trend where people

always want to challenge measures that would have been put in place by the Government to combat the virus. What we must understand is that the situation is serious and we need to act now if we are to win.

The President recently announced new lockdown regulations which will certainly go a long way in containing the spread of the deadly virus, but then we have people who are coming out to say that these measures are oppressive as if we are the only country with such regulations.

There are many countries which have even put regulations which are tougher than ours but we still see people crying foul. Let’s just grow up and do the right thing. — Mudzimu Mukuru.

Since the introduction of the forex auction system, there has been a bit of sanity on the market. There is a bit of stability and this shows that the RBZ is on the right track. However, the issue of the parallel market still needs to be dealt with.

By now it should have been a thing of the past but it seems like this trade is like a cancer which needs to be cut off or burnt otherwise a soft approach will not be a remedy. —
