I SALUTE our Heroes and Defence Forces who contributed to the freedom of this nation and continue to keep us safe. It is sad that due to the Covid-19 pandemic we were not able to throng the National Heroes Acre to honour these sons of the soil. However, we will never forget the sacrifices they made for us to enjoy the various freedoms we have today. All the same, we salute you all.

What a beautifully written yet very sad story on Cde Norest Muhondo. Stories like these are important because they remind us of the sacrifices that brought about our independence. At 17 years this guy had already left the comfort of his home; he was already a grown man. Yet many young people are being hoodwinked into believing lies being peddled by the enemy that we fought yesterday. Thank you so much The Sunday Mail for this timely reminder.

News that the Premier Soccer League might not return hit me and other soccer fans very hard. This is bad not just for us supporters but for the industry of football as a whole. The reason other leagues have resumed worldwide is not just to keep the industry going, but to give hope to nations that Covid-19 can and will be defeated. Please do something, our players need this, the country needs this.

Why are Zimbabweans on Twitter pretending to represent all of us? The silent majority is happy with the job that President Mnangagwa and his team are doing to get the country out of the quagmire that (former President Robert) Mugabe left it in. This country is moving forward whether these vocal few like it or not. We have gotten out of much worse situations, we will defeat this latest onslaught as well.

The swift action that has been taken by the Zimbabwe Republic Police to deal with fake roadblocks and moonlighting police officers is very encouraging.

It shows that there is still rule of law in this country and we have very strong institutions that can weather any storm. Keep up the good work ZRP.
