A ‘new normal’ is upon us

-

THE further relaxation of national lockdown measures announced last week shows that we are now embracing the “new normal”.

The economy needs to tick again and we must learn to live with Covid-19.

There was no way we could continue being closed forever.

Many countries are opening up and it is upon the citizens to ensure their safety first.

The virus knows no social, political and economic status.

We should not misinterpret the reduction in curfew hours and plans to reintroduce private commuter omnibuses to mean we are out of danger.

Covid-19 is still hunting us and we must take all preventative measures against the deadly pandemic.

Face masks should be worn at all times.

We must avoid unnecessary movement and crowding.

Let us remember to wash our hands under running water for at least 20 seconds.

Covering the nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing should be practiced as a show of love for those around us.

People should avoid touching their eyes, mouth and picking their nose.

Whenever one gets a cold, dry cough, continuous sneezing, a heavy chest, difficulties in breathing, headaches, running tummy, weak joints, vomiting and a fever, please visit the nearest healthcare facility.

I have picked up the symptoms because it seems our media has forgotten that dzokororo inesimba.

They are now concentrating on alarming statistics more that educating the masses.

Together we can fight Covid-19. United we will build Zimbabwe.

Citizen.
