Gerald Phiri on ‘Rogue jumbo terrorises Kariba’ — When these animals begin confronting human beings, we need to investigate the cause. The elephant population in Zimbabwe is no longer sustainable. We have had campaigns to CITES (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) to allow us to cull our elephant herd, but it appears the grouping decided to politic over the issue. They know if we trade the tasks of our jumbos, we will get revenue and that is what they do not want. Havatide vanhu ava!
