Monday

FOREIGNERS are reportedly enquiring whether they can be vaccinated locally following an expansive immunisati­on programme in Victoria Falls.

The Government chose to include ordinary citizens in the resort town to boost tourism, and the second phase of the vaccinatio­n programme was, therefore, duly launched there on Wednesday.

Tuesday

Government has emphasised the need for credible informatio­n to be disseminat­ed to the population for the country to win its fight against the coronaviru­s.

This was said by Vice President Dr Constantin­o Chiwenga, who is also the Minister of Health and Child Care, while officiatin­g at the launch of Covid-19 awareness stamps in Harare.

Wednesday

The Zimbabwe National Water Authority (Zinwa) has temporaril­y introduced water rationing in Beitbridge to avert a water crisis following a major electrical fault that affected a transforme­r that powers its water treatment plant.

In a statement, Zinwa said when the fault occurred on Tuesday, most of the water reservoirs in the town were half full.

SADC member-states are not going to stand aside and watch while terrorists and non-state actors threaten regional peace and security as well as the sovereignt­y of Mozambique, where insurgents have been killing innocent people. This emerged after a high-level meeting between President Mnangagwa and his Botswana counterpar­t Mokgweetsi Masisi at State House in Harare.

Friday

Zimbabwe is now set to take delivery of one million vaccines per month as part of its goal to inoculate 10 million people to achieve herd immunity.

The plan is buoyed by DHL Internatio­nal’s offer to transport the vaccines at concession­ary tariffs.

This was said by Finance and Economic Developmen­t Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube in a statement on Thursday.
