WorldRemit endorses local singer

-

SINGER and television host Alexio “Goodchild” Gwenzi has clinched a double ambassadorial deal with Quest Financial Services and WorldRemit.

Goodchild, who broke onto the music scene as an urban grooves artiste with the hit song “Iwe Fadzai” (2003), will be working with Quest Financial Services to promote their client — WorldRemit.

The Zimbabwe Music Rights Association (ZIMURA) board member said the deal is testament of the hard work he has invested in his music brand and image over the years.

“I have contributed a lot to the entertainment industry since I released the song ‘Iwe Fadzai’ as an urban grooves artiste back in 2003,” he said.

“The most important thing for me since then has been the quality of my music and my image as a public figure. I have been consistently working to be the best that I can be in this regard.”

Goodchild said he was pleased to work with the highly esteemed Quest Financial Services.

“When you are in the music industry, it is easy to be unprofessional and get involved in all sorts of immoral things such as drug and substance abuse.

“But that only makes you a bad role model, which is not good since a lot of people, especially children, look up to musicians.

“So, I am really grateful to Quest Financial Services and WorldRemit for this recognition because it means we are doing things right,” said the singer.

Quest Financial Services general manager (alternative banking unit) Ms Doris Chakamanga said the company was pleased to work with Goodchild.

“In a bid to promote visibility and increase WorldRemit’s footprint on the Zimbabwean market, Quest appointed

Mr Alexio Gwenzi (aka Goodchild) as the WorldRemit brand ambassador with effect from April 1, 2023,” she said.

His role mainly encompasses the promotion of the WorldRemit brand and ensuring that the market is kept abreast of all developments regarding the global money transfer partner.

Goodchild has produced a number of hits throughout his career. They include “Tama Naye”; “Shuwa”, featuring Shinsoman; “Faya Faya”, a collaboration with “Ti Gonzi”; “Underrated”, featuring Nutty O; and “Good To Me”, in which he worked with ExQ.

He has also had a stint at ZBC as a television presenter for “Coke on the Beat”, among other programmes.
