Tourism expo for everyone

ORGANISERS of the annual Sanganai/ Hlanganani World Tourism Expo are satisfied with progress made thus far in preparations for the 16th edition of the fair.

The annual event will be held in Bulawayo from October 12 to 14.

Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) head of corporate affairs Mr Godfrey Koti said they were pulling out all the stops to guarantee a flawless event.

The ZTA spokesperson said this year’s edition was tailor-made for buyers and exhibitors who will attend the expo.

A cocktail of events — including township tourism, musical performances, cultural exhibitions and familiarisation trips to different tourism sites across the country — will punctuate the event.

A number of local artistes will take turns to entertain the public and we have also come up with various entertainment activities that will keep guests busy throughout the expo.

“We are grateful to South African tourism players for coming through with some artistes,” said Koti.

Sanganai/Hlanganani celebrates the resilience, dynamism and untapped potential of Zimbabwe as a premiere tourism destination.

At least 100 buyers from traditional and emerging source markets that include the United States, Europe, France, Germany, China, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Nigeria, South Korea and Kenya are expected to attend the tourism expo.

The ZTA has reported a positive uptake of exhibition space and is still welcoming exhibitors to join the event. For years, Sanganai/Hlanganani has played a key role in unifying the region into a multi-attraction tourist destination.
