While the Constitution defines children as those below the age of 18, the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform)
Act defines a young person as one who is below 16 years, thereby creating a gap in the law that would possibly expose children above 16 to sexual exploitation.

The cocktail of tax measures introduced by Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube yesterday in the 2024 Budget strike a balance between providing relief to workers by raising the thresholds of tax-free income and bonuses, and bolstering Government revenues to finance economic development.
The tax measures are part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at easing the financial burden on taxpayers and using fiscal policy to tame speculation.
