Businesswo­man scoops top award

FOUNDER and operations director of Gainquip (Pvt) Ltd Ms Anorah Sibanda recently won the Profession­al Women, Women Executives and Business Women’s Forum (Proweb) Businesswo­man of the Year award in recognitio­n of her business acumen and leadership skills. She shrugged off challenges from other contending women on the awards night to emerge the winner.

“She is a force to reckon with in the areas of cash handling and weighing systems, that is, money counters, fake note detectors, foreign exchange rate boards and weighing scales,” said her company in a statement.

“She defied all gender barriers by becoming the first female legal metrologis­t in Zimbabwe.

“For the banking sector, she has designed

This was said by Impact Training Institute Internatio­nal (ITI) executive president Professor Elias Chakabwata during the institutio­n’s 6th graduation ceremony held in Harare yesterday.

In 2021, she landed the Small and Medium Enterprise­s in Zimbabwe Local Legends Woman Entreprene­ur of the Year award.

A toastmaste­r and president-elect for the Rotary Club of Harare Central, she is also the chairperso­n of the Diplomat Appreciati­on Trust and a board member of the Diplomat Business Networking Club.
