CERTIFIED life coach and businesswoman Mrs Fortunate Kufakunesu launched her debut book, titled “A Woman of Purposeful Destiny”, in Harare on Friday, at an event attended by prominent leaders from different sections of society.

The book explores her life journey and quest to discover her purpose in life, while imploring women to rise above challenges to pursue their purpose.

Speaking at the launch, Mrs Kufakunesu said she wrote the book to help uplift young girls and women.

“My intention is to advise and uplift girls and women, igniting their own journey of self-discovery because I have identified my way. I found out that my purpose is helping adolescent girls and other women,” she said.

Her motivation to help others comes from her appreciation of the help she got from others when her life was at its lowest point, she added.

“I was saved by one couple who took me to the city and sponsored my education up to diploma level,” she said.

“I was not the first girl they supported; they used to do that to other girls as well and that made me think of what could have happened to me if it were not for them. God provided them to me so that I can save others.”

Speaking at the same event, renowned strategist Dr Brian Maguranyanga said the book will go a long way in helping many women.

“The way women in Zimbabwe are taking (illicit) substances is concerning. We could lose a whole generation,” he said.

“You will have young children, women and girls who have no purpose whatsoever on this planet. This is a story of a girl who is coming from the village and is struggling with life and she asks herself the question: Why am I here?

“May we use this book to have a conversation with ourselves and discover our destiny.”

Founder of Securico Security Services Dr Divine Ndhlukula said the book will help give women a voice.

“Zimbabwean women have been given a voice through this book, because what she says resonates with a lot of black women, African women. So, the book has been put out into the world to give a voice of the African and Zimbabwean woman for people in Indonesia, Brazil, England and Germany to know and understand what this woman’s voice is like.”

A number of speakers commended the author for a job well done stressing the book would impact lives globally.
