Redeemed from poverty

-

“YOU know the generous grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Though He was rich, yet for your sakes, He became poor, so that by His poverty, He could make you rich.” — 2 Corinthians 8:9. What does this mean? It means the Lord Jesus Christ redeemed you from the curse of poverty and lack. Begin the new year with that mindset. The curse of poverty in your life was broken. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ is upon you to prosper. Approach your work and business with that mindset. Work hard and you will see your life being transformed.

Jesus took your poverty upon Himself to the Cross of Calvary and it was nailed there.

It was the power over you which was broken. So be success-conscious. Be prosperity-conscious. Whatever you do will succeed. Start small and see it grow. With this scripture, we are seeing the selfless nature of Christ’s sacrifice, and how he gave up everything for your sake. Paul is emphasising the “Grace” of Jesus Christ, which is His undeserved favour and love for you. Despite His great riches, Jesus became poor for your sake, so that you could be rich both spiritually

and physically. In other words, he gave up everything so that you could have life in abundance. The devil is the one that comes to steal, kill and destroy, but Christ came so that we may have life and life in abundance.

Be receptive of this “abundant” life Christ is offering you. This is the reason God gave His Son to die on the cross that we may live as shown in John 3:16. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Through faith, we have received eternal life.
