Monday

The Group of 77 plus China, commonly known as G77+China, has called for united efforts to address multi-faceted global threats, particular­ly neo-liberalism, conflicts, climate change and pandemics.

It also expressed disquiet over the West’s increased use of unilateral coercive measures, such as sanctions, as a weapon against developing countries.

Tuesday

President Mnangagwa has hailed the excellent bilateral relations between Zimbabwe and Belarus as comprehens­ive and solid, thanking his counterpar­t, President Aleksandr Lukashenko, for his efforts to make Zimbabwe a provider of first-class health services.

The President was speaking at State House on Monday after witnessing Health and Child Care Ambassador First Lady Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa’s Angel of Hope Foundation taking delivery of an ultra-modern mobile hospital from President Lukashenko.

The developmen­t is expected to enhance her capacity to serve disadvanta­ged communitie­s in all corners of the country, including hard-to-reach areas.

Wednesday The influentia­l Westminste­r Africa Business Group has expressed interest in setting up camp in Zimbabwe to open doors for British investors into the country.

This comes as Zimbabwe has put in place policy and legislativ­e frameworks to guarantee and safeguard investors’ interests.

Thursday

The United Kingdom is keen on increasing cooperatio­n and forging closer ties with Zimbabwe for the mutual benefit of both countries, Tewkesbury Town member of parliament and Westminste­r Africa Business Group chairperso­n Mr Laurence Robertson has said.

The British politician, who is heading a Westminste­r Africa Business Group delegation that is currently in the country, met President Mnangagwa at State House in Harare on Wednesday and expressed the UK’s commitment to increase trade with Zimbabwe, especially after Brexit.

Friday

President Mnangagwa is today expected to meet chiefs from the Matabelela­nd region to finalise the process that will ultimately mark the beginning of the Gukurahund­i hearings, as the Second Republic takes a bold step towards finding a lasting solution and fostering national unity for the victims to find closure.

The meeting will be held at State House in Bulawayo.
