Mutoko’s serene tourist haven
NESTLED amidst the stunning scenery of Mutoko, a new jewel has emerged.
A state-of-the-art haven of luxury and tranquillity that is poised to redefine Mutoko’s tourism landscape is beckoning tourists with its world-class amenities and breath-taking vistas.
Located just 900 metres off the Nyamapanda highway, Gohori Resort effortlessly blends contemporary elegance with the raw beauty of its natural surroundings.
The majestic mountain that serves as its backdrop sets the stage for an unforgettable experience, while the expansive grounds offer a sense of boundless serenity.
From its lavish five-star accommodation to a diverse array of recreational activities, Gohori caters to every visitor’s needs.
Whether one seeks relaxation by the pool, an invigorating hike through the surrounding hills, or a taste of authentic Zimbabwean culture through traditional cuisine, Gohori has something for everyone.
The true crowning jewel of the resort is undoubtedly its beer chalets, perched atop the hill with panoramic views that stretch as far as the eye can see.
Here, guests can soak in the unparalleled beauty of Mutoko while enjoying a refreshing beverage and the company of loved ones.
The vision behind Gohori Resort is both ambitious and inspiring.
General manager Mrs Tendai Zimbowora-Muzenda envisioned“bringing Dubai to Zimbabwe” and the results speak for themselves.
“Gohori Resort is a five-star hotel in the making,” she said.
“We offer accommodation, bed and breakfast; we offer activities, food and beverages, a spa and massage services, as well as hiking.
“Our vision is to make Gohori a tourism hub, especially for people who would like to be away from the busy city life; they can come and enjoy our relaxed and serene environment.”
She said the resort’s target market included high-end clients such businesspeople.
“We are targeting the crème de la crème of the market; those who have money to spend on a very quiet and relaxing place.
“We are also targeting‘ bl es sure’ tourists; those who are coming for business and tourism as well,” added Mrs Zimbowora-Muzenda.
“In future, we will have some dancers coming in to entertain our guests.
“So when people come here, especially those who are not privy to the Mutoko culture, they will have to appreciate local culture just like what is done in Victoria Falls. We will also partner with local villagers so that our clients can have a peek into the local Buja culture.”
Gohori Resort commenced operations last year and employs 22 people.
The resort, which is still under development, has 15 rooms which are currently open to clients.
Construction of a conference centre that can accommodate over 500 people is underway. “All our rooms are very spacious and have air conditioning.
“We are targeting to have 50 rooms by the end of this year, and construction of new beer chalets is ongoing.
“We are promising the wow factor; we would like to wow our guests upon arrival.”
