Don’t give up

-

“AND so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” — Luke 11:9-10.

Do not give up.

Keep on asking; keep on knocking; keep on seeking.

The Lord Jesus said this after His disciples had asked Him to teach them to pray. By extension, He said the same thing to you. Take Him at His word and keep on praying. The Bible has a lot to say about the power of prayer and being consistent.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 reads: “Pray without ceasing.”

This reminds us that we should never give up on prayer, no matter how difficult life gets. Prayer is a way to connect with God and receive his guidance and strength.

In the Bible, there are many examples of people who persevered in prayer. One of the most well-known examples we should consider is the story of the persistent widow in Luke 18. In this story, a widow kept coming to a judge, asking him for justice. At first, the judge ignored her but she kept coming back, again and again.

Finally, the judge gave her what she asked for, just to get rid of her! Jesus used this story to teach us that we should never give up on prayer.

Even though the judge ignored the widow at first, he eventually answered her request.

In the same way, God may not answer our prayers right away, but we can be confident that He will hear us and answer us in His perfect timing.

The widow did not give up because she had faith that the judge would listen to her. Similarly, we should persevere in prayer, trusting that God will hear us.

Giving up is not an option.

We are almost there. God is about to grant our desires.
