You are well able to overcome adversity

-

“BUT Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said, ‘Let us go up at once and occupy it, for we are well able to overcome it’.” — Numbers 13:30.

Today, we are reflecting on the empowering message from the courageous account of Joshua and Caleb, as they stood firm in their faith, proclaiming: “We are well able.”

The story of Joshua and Caleb’s unwavering trust in the power of God amidst overwhelming circumstances is testament of the enduring strength that comes from believing in the Spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the dead.

When 12 men were sent to spy on the land of Canaan, 10 returned with a report filled with fear and doubt, casting a shadow of despair over the hearts of many.

However, Joshua and Caleb, emboldened by their unwavering faith, stood firm in their conviction that they were well able to conquer the land promised to them by the Almighty.

In the face of adversity, Joshua and Caleb chose to align themselves with the Spirit of God that dwelt within them. They recognised the same Spirit had the power to accomplish the impossible and unimaginable.

Their faith was not rooted in their own strength, but in the omnipotent Spirit that resided within them.

It was this unshakeable belief that set them apart and enabled them to rise above the voices of doubt and fear that surrounded them.

Today, we are called to emulate the resolute faith of Joshua and Caleb, understanding that the same Spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the dead resides within each one of us. This Spirit empowers us to overcome insurmountable challenges and achieve feats that may seem impossible in the eyes of the world.

It is a Spirit that transcends human limitations and ignites within us a fervent declaration:“I am well able.”

As we navigate the twists and turns of life, we must anchor ourselves in the unwavering truth that we are well able, not by our own might, but by the indwelling Spirit of God.

Let us embrace the boundless potential that lies within us, knowing that with faith as our compass, we can surmount any obstacle and accomplish extraordinary things.

Beloved ones, let us stand firm in the assurance that the Spirit of God enables us to rise above our circumstances, conquer our fears and walk in victory. Let us declare with unwavering faith: “I am well able.”

It is through the power of the Spirit that we find strength, courage and limitless possibilities.

May this truth resonate in our hearts as we embark on this journey of faith, knowing that with God, all things are possible. Amen.
