l Murefu holds a Bachelor of Law (Honours) Degree, an MBA (UZ) and a PhD in Leadership and Corporate Governance (AIU).

l He also holds Diplomas in Leadership and Corporate Governance (ALI) and Human Resources Management (IPMZ).

l Murefu is a Chartered Human Resources Practition­er (CHRP“G”) and Fellow of the Institute of People Management Zimbabwe (IPMZ).

l He is a member of both the Zimbabwe Institute of Management (ZIM) and Institute of Directors Zimbabwe (IoDZ).

l Murefu started his working career in the civil service where he worked in the then Ministry of Labour Manpower Planning and Developmen­t and later worked for three state owned enterprise­s as part of his career developmen­t.

l He previously held positions of Employee Relations Manager and Human Resources Manager with two local multinatio­nal banks.

l Before joining FBC Bank Limited he was the Human Resources Executive of a large

Zimbabwean meat and food processing company

l Murefu joined FBC Bank Limited in March 2000 as Head, Human Resources until January 2005 when he was promoted to Group Head, Human Resources for FBC Holdings Limited.

l He is currently the Divisional Director, Group Human Resources with the same Group.

l Murefu also sits on the boards of two subsidiary companies of FBC Holdings Limited.

l He also holds non-executive directorsh­ips with a listed entity, a privately owned entity in the food industry and is Independen­t Chairperso­n of a self-administer­ed Pension Fund.

l Murefu is a past Chairperso­n of two NECs and the Banking Employers Associatio­n of Zimbabwe.

l Prior to his election as Emcoz President in September,2019 he was its 1st Vice President and later Acting President.
