Bar Carolina by Chris Connell Design

Chris Connell’s design for Bar Carolina, the latest venue from Sarti and Il Bacaro restaurateur Joe Mammone, transforms a soulless narrow box into a well-balanced South Yarra venue. Large, pivoting windows allow for ventilation and flexibility of seating arrangements, while the bar acts as a point of welcome. With a material palette characterized by inky blue walls, blackened steel-framed windows and chevron parquetry flooring, Bar Carolina is warm and intimate.
