Mill Film Adelaide by Studio Nine

-

In designing the first Australian workplace for global visual effects studio Mill Film, Studio Nine Architects has interpreted the visual effects process using two design principles: “modelling and performance” and “light, colour and texture.” “Modelling and performance” drove a strict planning structure in which working, reviewing and socializing spaces were carefully placed in order to be seamlessly linked yet appropriately separated. Distinct “light, colour and texture” profiles were created to distinguish each functional zone, resulting in a monochromatic artist area, warm and natural reviewing rooms and vibrant social spaces. A common material palette unites the spaces. The project strikes a balance between hard, industrial materials and a soft, warm atmosphere. The application of rich Australian timbers provides a local context for this global film studio. Photography — David Sievers Photography Studio Nine Architects — studionine.net.au
