Float table collection by Dean Norton
◄ The Float table collection is a new body of work from Melbourne designer Dean Norton that explores transparent form with a subtle overlay of texture, transforming simple tables into light shape-shifting pieces. Developing Float during lockdown, Norton explored new forms, manufacturing techniques and mediums. Made entirely of concave toughened glass, Float’s seamless form changes depending on its viewing angle thanks to material opacity, textured layering and a dynamic mix of fused straight lines and curved edges. An expression of life during the lockdown, the design explores uncertainty, fluidity and transience, but it is also optimistic and light.
