Commonplace by Melina Design Group and Studio & You

Designed by Melina Design Group and Studio & You, Commonplace in Canberra is a considered working space full of natural light, vibrance and texture to evoke both wellbeing and productivity. The brief was to create a modern workplace that implements a sense of enjoyment for the task at hand. The finishes palette, carefully put together by Alanna Kochel from Studio & You, is a perfect reflection of the ideology. Raw concrete, profiled oak timber and black fixtures contrast with the splashes of terracotta walls, blushpink velvet seating and ample greenery. Soft curves are a subtle detail repeated throughout the space in a variety of scales, helping to refine and curate the narrative of the materiality.
