Ursula’s Paddington by Brahman Perera
◥ Melbourne designer Brahman Perera has applied his signature romantic and personalized approach to a new restaurant in Sydney’s Paddington. Ursula’s is a new independent restaurant for chef Phil Wood and his wife Lis Davies. The main dining room features rich caramel tones on the walls and floor, which provide a warm and comfortable space for diners. Unexpected embellishments, such as the bespoke light fittings, add a sense of playfulness and whimsy to the space.
Wall lights by Clementine Maconachie, made from sculpted and folded metal, bend and shape warm light across the walls, while handmade oversized plaster pendant lights by Perera himself hang over the dining tables. The restaurant also features timber pieces by Livio Tobler. Upstairs, the private dining room, the Blue Room, has a corner balcony that overlooks Paddington.
