Handpicked Wines by Design Office

► Design Office has created a second flagship urban cellar door for wine merchant Handpicked Wines in Melbourne’s CBD, following the success of its Sydney cellar door – an elegant solid oak and galvanized steel composition.

The Melbourne flagship is designed by Platform by Design Office, a service the practice set up to help brands develop a common architectural syntax across multiple locations.

Located in the base of the revitalized precinct at 80 Collins Street, the cellar door unfolds over two levels and a mezzanine. The mezzanine level houses a private “experience room,” while upstairs is home to a more traditional wine bar. Photography — Tom Ross Design Office — designoffice.com.au
