Lo and Co by Alexander and Co.
◥ Sydney’s Lo and Co underwent a micro retail activation within an existing heritage frontage, with the updated interior showcasing the brand’s brass architectural hardware. Tight spatial constraints and a short lease required an innovative rethink of the fitout process, so designer Alexander and Co. chose removable pieces of furniture and lighting. The result is a gallery envelope with furniture relocatable not only within the store, but also across any of its future sites.
While the space’s contents are transferable, this assemblage of sculptural forms still feels “found” within its tenancy. A large walnut veneer island bench draws the eye to the centre of the store, and the back wall features a painted veneer open bookcase. An elongated brass pendant light adds substance and complements the brass hardware on the island bench below, and American oak timber floors add texture.
