Our Prescribed Solution
The surest way to combat the plastic pollution, industrial and biological waste problems is more government investment in building more waste and sanitation treatment plants to cope with the runaway urban growth. Industries located next to the rivers need to be closed down if they are polluting or need to be mandated to put in place proper waste treatment measures for toxic byproducts.
Arresting the consumption of the public for plastic products is a multifold solution that needs more education on recycling, more financial encouragement for green, sustainable alternatives and concerted public campaigns to refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle, recover.
