Three drinks for April Pink negroni

Combine 35ml pink gin, 25ml rosé vermouth and 15ml Aperol in a tumbler with a small handful of ice. Stir together until the outside of the glass feels cold, then garnish with a pink grapefruit wedge and a basil leaf, if you like.

Sidecar mocktail

SERVES 1 PREP 10 mins EASY V

Put a coupe glass in the fridge. Put 50ml cold lapsang souchong tea, 50ml lemon juice and 1 tsp marmalade in a cocktail shaker and stir until the marmalade starts to dissolve. Stir in 1 tsp honey and add a handful of ice. Shake well until the outside of the shaker feels cold, then double strain into the chilled glass. Garnish with a slice of dried orange, if you like.

Manhattan

SERVES 1 PREP 5 mins EASY V

Pour 75ml bourbon, 15ml sweet vermouth, 15ml dry vermouth, 2 dashes Angostura bitters and 5ml eau de vie (optional) into a mixing glass, add some ice cubes and stir for about 30-60 seconds. Strain into a martini glass, twist a strip of orange peel over the glass to express the oils and drop into the drink, or discard if you prefer.
