The Joy of Better Cooking
by Alice Zaslavksy (£25, Murdoch Books)
Full of creative recipes that are instructional and cheery, alongside colourful and kitsch photography, this book is informative and never patronising. Alice Zaslavsky creatively combines ingredients from all corners of the globe, often nodding to her Georgian heritage, with dishes like her aubergine kharcho with Georgian gremolata. Broken down into useful sections such as ‘slapdash’, ‘on autopilot’ and ‘loosen your shoulders’, it makes planning your weekly meals easy, and still inspiring. Whether you’re a novice in the kitchen or a seasoned foodie, there are tips and tricks to enhance even the most mundane meals.
