Those spacebar-challenged boffins at Melda Production have earned favour at Computer Music for their thoroughly modern, well-appointed plugin suites that offer plenty of power at reasonable prices. It doesn’t get more reasonable than free, and that’s exactly what Melda Production’s MFree FX Bundle is: an ever-expanding collection of powerful tools with customisable GUIs. Some of the best of the bunch are their workhorse utility effects, and this month’s featured freebie falls squarely into that category.
MFreeformPhase is a powerful tool for controlling the phase of your signals. While not exactly a glamorous assignment, phase issues are some of the most insidious of all audio gremlins, ruining tracks and mixes, often while going entirely unnoticed during the recording process.
MFreeformPhase gives you a great big drawable graph in which you can see and adjust the phase of your signals. You can draw directly with the mouse, or disable drawing and tweak the graph in detail. An Envelope Graph lets you apply customisable shapes with any number of nodes and multiple curves. You also get MeldaProduction’s big, accurate meters and fully customisable interface, and that lovely Morph button that lets you transition smoothly between four sets of settings.
