Fifties Flair

Curated by Rodolfo Dordoni, Minotti’s 2018 Outdoor Collection aims to facilitate a smooth transition between indoor and outdoor areas and create a dialogue between the built environment and its surrounding nature. The centrepiece of the collection is a family of chairs designed by revered Brazilian architect Marcio Kogan of Studio MK27. Dordoni designed the rest of the collection to complement Kogan’s design. Among them is the Prince ‘Cord’ Outdoor chair. Inspired by 1950s American modernism, Prince ‘Cord’ Outdoor is an expansion of Minotti’s 2012 indoor seating collection of the same name. It features a metal seat structure – which undergoes triple treatments of sandblasting, zinc primer and powder coating to withstand the outdoors – woven with 8mm braided cord. Generous cushions have removable waterproof upholstery.
