Hard Work Can Be Soft

-

“The workstation is going the same way as the dining room – it’s disappearing as an archetype,” say Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby. The design duo believe that with mobile technology, all we need to work is a place to sit occasionally and the ability to plug in. They noted that the sofa has already become a working place, even though from an ergonomic point of view it’s not suitable for the activity. With this in mind, they teamed up with Vitra to develop Soft Work – a modular system with table settings for work focused around a seating landscape. Ergonomic seating options are joined by a host of detachable accessories for working. In Singapore, Vitra has opened a new monobrand store in partnership with W. Atelier at the Tan Boon Liat Building.
