Layers Peel Open

Sturdy Chengal-framed sliding doors on the second storey contain panels of marine ply. The edges of the ply sheets, which in terms of material degradation are the weakest points, are smartly embedded in the frames. The kids’ bedrooms were designed to open up into a single large space, augmented by the adjacent corridor. The kids’ shower and toilet are accessed from the open-air deck at the rear, where a basin – exposed to the sun – faces the neighbours across the laneway.
