Optimising The In-Between
Arper’s Kiik collection of seating, tables, ottomans and consoles was originally designed (by Ichiro Iwasaki) with in-between spaces in mind: waiting rooms, university lounges, workspaces, meeting areas and mixed-use spaces. Such spaces are often shared by strangers, so balancing the communal and the private is key. Now the Kiik collection has been updated with new options for support, privacy and conversation. Options for armrests, backrests, seat dividers, and USB power lend further versatility to Kiik ’s performance in contract contexts and public spaces. USB power has been added to seating as well as tables and consoles, allowing time spent waiting to be put to good use. In Singapore, Arper is available from Stylecraft. Photo: Marco Covi.
