Sancal’s Next Stop seating system was inspired by Milan’s subway. The symmetry of train seats and subway lighting informed an ‘endless’ modular seating program designed by Luca Nichetto. The module of the system (which can create benches, sofas or armchairs) is a cushion composed of three seating pads in a textile cover. Nichetto worked in collaboration with textile designer MarieLouise Rosholm to develop a fabric specifically for this furniture collection. Titled Zero, the woollen textile is akin to a tailor-made suit that virtually eliminates seams and waste. In Singapore, Sancal is available from Grafunkt and Zenith Interiors.
