The softness of wood, carved to fit comfortably with the human body, meets machined metal via perforated leather strapping in the Chimère Bridge chair from Roche Bobois. Designer Simon Reynaud referenced the sporting world (for example, tennis and cycling) with the perforated strapping – a witty means of joining materials and creating a soft touch on the arms. And much like the optimised forms that define sporting equipment, Chimère Bridge is fit for purpose with slender black-coated metal and embracing solid ash, which is available in many stain colours.
