Obesity causes depression
New research published in the International Journal of Epidemiology – conducted by the University of South Australia and the UK’s University of Exeter – found the psychological impact of being overweight or obese causes depression, whether there is a presence of other health issues or not. “Our research shows that being overweight doesn’t just increase the risks of chronic diseases, it can also lead to depression,” says UniSA Professor Elina Hypponen.
