DIABETES IN SCHOOLS
The Federal Government has invested $6 million in a school-based program that is designed to provide greater support for children with type 1 diabetes, and their families, in a school setting. The program – designed and delivered by Diabetes Australia through the National Diabetes Services Scheme – offers education for teachers in the symptoms and management of type 1, as well as providing training in administering insulin, recognising hypoglycaemia and more.
