They’re such an easy snack to grab on the go, but which bars are actually better for you?
Snack bars are often a popular morning or afternoon tea option.
However, many that are available in the supermarket are made from highly processed ingredients and can be laden with added sugars and fats.
When choosing a healthier snack bar, look for those which are made with whole grains and also contain: • Preferably, at least 3g fibre per serve (unfortunately fibre is not always listed). • Less than 200mg sodium per 100g; and • Less than 10g total fat per 100g, with less than a third of that being saturated fat; • No more than 550kJ per serve;
