Cool off with a sweet treat under 140 kilojoules. Follow our formula to make healthy desserts easy
ICE-BLOCK BASE RECIPE
3 cups chopped fruit
60ml (1⁄4 cup) to 80ml (1⁄3 cup) water,
as needed for blending
2 Tbsp honey (optional)
1 Tbsp fresh citrus juice
1 tsp citrus zest (optional)
Place all ingredients in a blender. Cover and blend until nearly smooth. Pour mixture into eight x 80ml (1⁄3 cup) ice-block moulds. Insert sticks in moulds. Freeze overnight.
HEALTH TIP
If adding honey, keep in mind this will add 6g of carbs (½ exchange) to each ice block.
