1 tsp cumin seeds

1 tsp curry pow­der or gluten-free

curry pow­der

2 large cloves gar­lic, crushed 160g dried brown lentils, rinsed

un­til water runs clear

750ml (3 cups) salt-re­duced veg­etable stock or gluten-free stock

500ml (2 cups) water
