WHAT’S NEW?
Version 2 adds the Sample Engine and its Granular mode, which we explore in more depth over the page. With this, as you’d expect, come a wealth of new presets bringing new tonality to the factory library.
Joining the original line-up of filter types is the new, Buchla-style Low Pass Gate. This acts like a combined filter and VCA, cutting high frequencies and amplitude at the same time. Use it for West Coast-style modular sounds, as well as more ‘natural’-sounding synth tones with a wood wind like response.
The new sequencer and arp modes use probability-based steps to add randomisation. Anything less than ‘100’ applied to a step will introduce an element of unpredictability. This is a great way to liven up repetitive sequences and maintain interest.
Tape Echo adds a whole extra flavour of delay, with an input volume control that can be used to drive it and get crunchy, old-school delay.
