Following Covid-related delays, Lancemore Crossley St is set to open on December 1 in Melbourne’s theatre district. The 113-room boutique hotel has been overseen by award-winning architectu­re firm Carr, and includes a rooftop terrace.

In NSW, Bannisters Port Stephens has opened its own pop-up poolside Mexican bar and eatery, called Julio’s. Here you’ll find head chef Mitch Turner focusing on seafood from the region, with the menu including raw tuna tostadas with adobo sauce and green onion, and market fish with greens wrapped in banana leaf with coriander.

Across Australia, Ovolo Hotels are encouragin­g staycation­s this summer, with each hotel creating locally curated packages. You can enjoy Tesla transfers, in-room massages, dining experience­s, boat tours and picnics, all by booking directly through the Ovolo website.

The Tokyo Edition, Toranomon has opened in Tokyo’s Toranomon Hills. Designed in partnershi­p with renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma (the designer of the Olympic Stadium in Tokyo) this hotel is one to add to the bucket list for design and architectu­re fans. The Edition brand was created by entreprene­ur and hotelier Ian Schrager, who has worked on many unique hotels, with his career beginning in 1977 when he co-founded the iconic Studio 54.
