An Appenine-inspired meld of montepulciano and sangiovese, all sourced from McLaren Vale, the estate’s home turf. This sings! The tannins are frisky and aptly firm; beautifully moulded in lieu of the cavalcade of sour cherry to darker fruit allusions. These are punctuated by spice, a porcini earthiness, dried sage and espresso oak. A delicious and highly convincing wine, texturally synonymous with brethren from the Marche across to Abruzzo – two of my favourite Italian regions. NG 13.5% alc.
